The Amohas Banned List
Clean. Transparent. Evidenced.
Welcome to the Amohas No-List—where the bad stuff goes to retire (with no pension).
We take clean beauty seriously, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun while showing toxic ingredients the door.
Here’s what will never, ever make it into an Amohas vessel. Not even if it dressed up in plant-based drag and said “please.”
-
Parabens
They may preserve, but they don’t deserve a place on your skin.
Banned because: They mess with your hormones, and frankly, we find that rude. -
Phthalates
Used to make plastics flexible and fragrances clingy. Banned because: We like our dance moves flexible, not our skincare ethics.
-
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) & Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)
That foamy feeling? Yeah, it’s a lie.🫧 Banned because: Harsh detergents belong in car washes, not your skincare.
-
Formaldehyde & Formaldehyde-releasing Agents
A preservative that doubles as a science fair horror story. Banned because: Your serum shouldn’t double as embalming fluid.
-
Synthetic Fragrances
A “secret recipe” of potentially 100+ undisclosed chemicals. Banned because: We prefer transparency over mystery. And allergies.
-
Oxybenzone & Octinoxate
Sunscreen ingredients with a talent for disrupting coral reefs and your endocrine system.
Banned because: We love oceans. And functioning hormones.
-
Hydroquinone
Often found in “whitening” creams. It’s aggressive and unnecessary. Banned because: We believe in brightening, not erasing.
-
Triclosan
Marketed as antibacterial. Actually just problematic. Banned because: You’re not a kitchen counter.
-
Coal Tar & Artificial Dyes
Still legal in some places. Still prehistoric in our book. Banned because: No one should need a warning label to wash their face.
